Where art thou my inspiration?

Yes, yes, I know I have been MIA for awhile, but I just haven't had any inspiration or any thought process to blog!
To be completely honest, I haven't had the inspiration to do anything for the past couple of weeks!
First, my right wrist is all jacked up, most likely due to the fact that winter just passed and I was crocheting like a retired grandmother. (Let's just say, I'm glad Spring is around the corner!) Nonetheless, I am grateful for every customer who purchased from me and for every little head I helped keep warm!
Second, I broke my camera!! waahhahahaah. It was at the bottom of my purse and I had accidentally dropped my purse on the concrete. I didn't remember my camera was in there. I came home and took out my camera to plug into my computer and it wasn't turning on! Panic rushed all around me as I frantically tried to turn it on (I can be a tad bit dramatic), No such luck, it was broken! That is when I realized it had broke when I dropped my purse onto the concrete!
JUST GREAT! How am I supposed to take pics of my items?? of my sweet girl?? How am I going to tell my dear husband?? How am I going to ask for another one?? A bigger and better one?? (ahaha, ok, scratch that last part)
I told my husband and he said "just use the camera option on our camcorder"
"hmmm.. ok, I guess that will work for now. But you will get me another one right??" (batting my eyelashes)
"we'll see" (I'm thinking batting of the eyelashes really work!)
So until then, I am using my camcorder to take pictures and they are not coming out that good, but it'll do.

And to be completely, completely HONEST, I've been really bummed.
You see, for the past 3 months, my husband and I have been trying to conceive. And... no positive on those darn pregnancy tests I've been spending our money on!
My husband is so sweet, and is always encouraging me and telling me just wait on the LORD, He is the one in control and when it's His timing, you'll get pregnant.
So, this is probably the main reason, I've been down and haven't had any inspiration to blog.
I finally told myself just give it up to the LORD. He knows my heart and wants nothing but the best for me so just trust in Him! It's in His good works, to bless His children.

So, I jumped right out of my blues and to my surprise, found some inspiration!!
I am starting my new Spring 2011 line that I have promised my loyal customers and fans will be available for purchase April 1st.
Here are a few pieces: (Just darling, if I can say so myself)
Please keep in mind, these pics were taken from my camcorder so they are not the best of pics.

What do you think? I'm thinking about doing a giveaway with one of the new pieces right here on my blog! I would love some feedback!

mmmm… Home-made Caramel Popcorn.

What could get any better?

I’ve been craving my home-made yummy, scrumptious, delicious ADDICTING caramel popcorn for a good while now and have been waiting for the right opportunity to make it.
Well, I am in a bible study group through my church and we meet every Thursday.
{We are going through a Beth Moore study of Esther! Love it!}
Anyways, this past Thursday, we had our “fellowship” Koinonia night, where we meet and instead of going through the study, we talk, eat and have sweet fellowship.
We all had agreed on a potato bar and a few deserts. I had volunteered to bring a desert and that is how I was able to make the all-addicting Caramel Popcorn.
So I am going to give you the recipe, a little bit of a tutorial, along with a hand-ful of pics.
First you’ll need:
·         1 cup of popcorn kernels
·         1 cup butter (I like to use the unsalted)
·         2 cups brown sugar
·         ½ cup corn syrup
·         1 tsp salt
·         1 tsp vanilla extract
·         ½ tsp baking soda
·         A roasting pan

Preheat your oven to 250 degrees
Pop all of your popcorn in a popcorn maker-thingy. (I got mine at WalMart for like $10 – I think)

Pour all of your popped popcorn into a roasting pan. ( I like to use a spatula when mixing because it won’t break up the popcorn as easily as a spoon)

Next, it’s time to make the caramel! Mmmm.. my favorite part! Delicious-ness!
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt your butter. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil stirring constantly.

Then, boil WITHOUT STIRRING for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla.
Pour in a thin stream over popcorn and mix/stir to coat the popcorn.

Once the caramel is evenly coated, bake every 15 minutes for 1 hour. Stirring and mixing it up every time.

That easy and super good!! Now go and make that caramel popcorn.

Sewing/Crafting Saturday…

… and Monday
For the past week I had been wanting to make a tote bag to replace Brooklynn’s small little canvas bag that we use for Sunday church and little outings. I only put a diaper and her wipe case and her snacks in there. But it was just getting too small.
I wanted something a tad bit bigger so I can put an extra pair of clothes and her sippy cup. So, I said to myself why not make one? I have a sewing machine and a grip of fabric!
So, there I was, Saturday afternoon, cutting, measuring, and ironing fabric. I was so proud of myself!
This is what the finished product looked like!
Don’t look too closely, it’s not at all perfect. The ribbon was not on the tote when I was finished it. I knew it was missing something so I just glued the ribbon on. I should’ve thought about it before because then I would’ve sewed it on; but hey it’s my first one!
It fits EVERYTHING I need for her!
I lined the inside with a very soft satin. I love the texture and feel of this bag.
Then I got to thinking, Brooklynn would be absolutely adorable with a little cross-body bag to put her little snacks and her lip gloss (chap stick- she puts it on all the time) in.
So, this was it! She loved it! (ok, ok, I loved it) hehe

I’m gonna have to start making more for her in different prints! Too adorable!! Should I start selling these or what?? I’ll probably put it on my FB Girly Girl Bows & More page and see how it goes!

AAAnnnd, last but not least, these adorable shoes with rosettes!
You see, my sweet girl has an adorable outfit (from Beary Basics) that she was going to wear on Sunday, however, all I had to match this red outfit were these white plain Keds.
An amazing idea popped into my head again! Make rosettes to match  EVERY outfit and just Velcro them on the shoes!!!
How ingenious!
So, first thing first: Grab those plain white shoes!
Put on the “adhesive” Velcro. (These are sold at Jo-ann or Walmart)
Place the other side to the Velcro on the rosette and…
… TADA! You have ADORABLE shoes! I’ll be making a lot more to match her outfits when she has to wears these Keds.
Too bad I didn’t get a picture of her wearing her outfit!
I’ll just put the same outfit on her again and take a picture. hehe

Creativity Runs in the Family

What a perfect blog post to start off the month of March!
As some of you readers may know, I am a tad-bit creative and a whole-lot talented, or is it the other way around? Hmmm..well, whatever it is, I LOVE to make things and let my creativity side run wild!
Meet my twin sissy, Kimberly.

NOW, she is a whole-lot creative!! She is the one into scrapbook things, whereas, I am into ribbon and fabric!
I wanted to showcase just a LITTLE bit of her stuff because it’s so darn cute!
Now, a lot of the stuff I am going to show is lovey-dovey because they were all made for her boyfriend Ryan.
Because Ryan still had them, they were readily available for me to take pictures of. Of course, she has made a plethora of other things for other people but obviously I could not take pictures of them.
She does an assortment of cards, frames, scrapbook pages and anything that has to do with paper.
Here are some of her cards.
This one was made for V-day and it was a card with-in a card. Or, really, the gift within the card.
When he pulled out the card, there were gift cards all on it. What a great and cute idea right?

She’s made a variety of birthday cards.

This here is a scrapbook page and she had framed it for him.

I love this one! It’s a plethora of “tags” with various pictures and “song/love quote” that he can interchange whenever he wants! He just takes it out of the ceramic vase and slips it into the vellum front! How ingenious!

These are “mini photo books” that she had made. They showcase only 1 picture for every month of the year. She just made them and had them laminated! Super easy and very affordable.  Cute! Cute! Cute!

One last thing! She makes these wall frames! She’s made them for families, both of my parents and her boyfriends’ parents. She has about every quote and scripture you’ll need for love, family, mom, dad, sister, brother, grandma and grandpas and whoever else you might think of!! The perfect gift for any occasion!

Sooo, there it is! A small gallery of what she does on the side. I love her!
